Andréa Ravache

I am Andréa Ravache, a 32-year-old artist from Brazil, currently located in Stockholm, who have been performing since the age of eleven. I have a wide background, ranging from acting and dance performance to teaching and directing. My ability to blend hip hop, contemporary dance, physical theater and other influences has allowed me to become intimately familiar with my body and provided me with a unique skillset that I have applied in many different settings.

From age eleven to nineteen I starred in two musicals in Brazil, "Pinocchio - The Musical," and "The Wizard of Oz,". This was an early lesson in teaching me how to tell a story through movement. More importantly though, I discovered my passion for performance, and led me onto the path of further discovery. My dancing foundation comes mainly from hip hop. I was drawn to it due to how it challenged me to move my body and express myself in completely new ways. During a period of ten years, I practiced different styles of hip hop intensely. This have given me a deep body consciousness, and when I was able to blend this consciousness with my acting while doing the musical "In the Heights", I discovered that my performance skills had reached a new level.

In 2015, I was hired as a cast member at Fuerza Bruta, a company that does physical theater with aerial elements. The style of their shows matched my skills very well and challenged me physically in many ways. The show contained elements of interacting with the audience, and since we toured across Asia, America and Europe, I encountered many different cultures. This has helped me to develop an almost unconscious awareness of how to adopt to the spectators and fellow actors.

Outside of touring, I have continued to develop my skills in different ways. I have taken courses in contemporary dance, physical theater, mime and clowning. I have also been doing choreography, directing, body movement coaching and stunt performance as well as acting in front of a camera. In Stockholm I have done different acting and dance performances, most recently in the play "Orca," choreographed by Linda Wardal at MDT. I am eager to find new opportunities in Sweden, where I can contribute and grow, not only as a performer but also as a creative collaborator.
